Berlin Hauptbahnhof - Berlin Central Station

The Berlin Central Station in Berlin-Mitte was opened in May 2006 after almost eleven years of construction. The architect, Meinhard von Gerkan, designed a building of steel and glass, which consists of the east-west-hall of the "Stadtbahn" ("City Railway"), the north-south-hall flanked by two office buildings, three distribution levels, and the new north-south railway tunnel. The station is located north of the "Spreebogen".
