The New Guardhouse - Memorial to the Victims of War and Tyranny

The Neue Wache - New Guardhouse was built on the street Unter den Linden from 1816-18 according to plans by the architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. It now serves as "Memorial to the Victims of War and Tyranny". Inside, there is an enlarged replica of the sculpture "Pietà" by Käthe Kollwitz. The sculpture depicts a mother with dead son.
