Unter den Linden

The street "Unter den Linden" was first laid out in 1647 as a bridal path for the Elector Princes of Brandenburg. The Prussian Kings later commissioned numerous magnificent buildings along the street, which made it the central boulevard of historic Berlin. Unter den Linden connects the Spree Island with Pariser Platz and the Brandenburg Gate.
